Interest rate

I have a leasback mortgage with Barclays (solutions)at a variable rate which increased last year to 6.67% & is still at this rate despite the ECB rate being reduced 3 or 4 times since. I have emailed them but received no reply. Any advice anyone?

Tippy,

As in my own case the interest rate is reviewed annually, so if your last rate change was less than 1 year ago it may be that your rate is not due to change until the annual review.

Tippy,

Yes,the interest are reveiwed annually.Mine has been reduced at the annual reveiw from 5.6% to 3.95% which has taken over 200euros a month off the interest and put 200euros on the capital payments.Obviously as the total repayments stay the same, the amount of years left to pay is reduced. There should be more reductions for next year!

Long live the recession!
